Sorry I haven't been here to stir things up. Went back to work and have been real busy with travel to the "left Coast" and meetings. I' ll try to be more diligent in pissing everyone off.

Years ago Sea Dangles and I use to fight all the time. Now that Chris and I are friends we don't fight so much
And finally #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& isn't coming back. He's very happy on the "other" site and since he is a commercial fisherman supporting his family, he doesn't have time for the trivial nonsense we participate in here. I talk to Bill all the time and he is doing fine.

OK, carry on.

No boat, back in the suds.

I don’t post as much anywhere anymore. You kind of go trough these stages in life as others have said more eloquently. I must say that sb.com is the only site I look at every day and I am grateful that I met so many people though it. The NE flavor of the site is right up my alley and yes, although sometimes it can be a bit "same old" like any other place its still my favorite site. I feel like I know you guys for years yet many I've never meet. Maybe because the few that I did meet turned out to become good friends.

This site does not suck.
Goats eat poison ivy.
Here's a picture of my grandma and her sisters in the late 30's (for striperman). She's third from the right.

I suggest the following new rule in order to improve the atmosphere in the forum:

If one should post a picture of a caught fish, there should only be praise and commendation bestowed upon that post. No exceptions.

Those who break this rule would go to a temporary 'jealousy hole' for having a dissenting opinion of the original post. Other members would be able to flame the dissenter w/o the possibility of any responses from the guilty party in this 'q bin'. When the guilty is released and allowed to post again, he would be labeled 'tree hugging douche' or something similar under his user name for a probationary period of time.

Keep in mind that if you don't like my idea, you are in fact most likely a douche yourself - or at least a facsimile thereof.

Last edited by BatesBCheatin; 07-11-2010 at 07:42 PM.. Reason: homophobic/racist comments are not welcome here : I was quoting previous usage of the Q word in this very thread - BBC

I troll more often now to see whats happening out of curiosity. Only time I log in is to see fish porn or post something.

Overall StriperTalk just doesnt seem the same anymore. I remember a few years ago I was learning a lot from the people on this site, not so much anymore. I find myself skimming the threads now, like someone said earlier the boards have gotten watered down. Every once in a while I find something new and I appreciate the site for that. Just a few weeks ago I think Raider Ronnie had a post about the slim beauty knot. I tried it out and found it works nice. thanks!!!!!!! (lol bigfish)

Spence and I typically don't agree on political topics but I do enjoy posting things I find to stir the pot there and get a big kick out of Spence's extensive knowledge and quick wit.

My favorite section used to be plug building. I stopped going because well, I stopped building. (mainly because I no longer have access to the proper equipment) That's something would like to get back into it in the future. (Moses I haven't forgotten about you, still owe ya a plug) I liked how in there everyone helped each other out no matter if it was a noob starting or a more experience builder learning a new trick. If there was more of that in the Stripertalk I think things would improve.

I agree with Zacs a Hooters meeting is good idea.
"its to Fn Hot to fish"

Clammer the pic of #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& cuddling the fish on your couch is the best, reminds me of the good old days here.... LOL remember when they hyjacked your boat! hahaha

Oh yeah...this fn drives me insane/

vBulletin Message Your submission could not be processed because you were not logged in..(after I log in, is there a session abandon. timeout feature? )

usually i ctrl copy my posts before hitting submit because this always happens to me and I end up losing my post. why???? sometimes I forget and its not good

Hey Moto check off the 'remember me' box when you log in and that way unless you clean your cookies you'll always be ready to go. Makes it easier to just come here and hit 'new post' and see whats been added since my last visit.

Brilliant. 2-3% of the population are homosexual and not one of them chose to be that way. 2-3% of our children will be homosexual, and none of them or us will chose for them to be that way. I'm sure there are men in this forum who are deeply hurt by this sort of discrimination and lack of moderator input to correct it. Life for these people and their families is already plenty painful enough. Allowing posts like the above to stand unchallenged does indeed suggest this site can suck. Pathetic!

i think that the key word to luds' opening post is "right now"

this site is a living, breathing, entity that evolves as members leave, members change, members stay, and new blood gets pumped into it to keep it growing. and we seem to have ALL of that. sooooo, it is going to have its seasons of S#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&ESS tendered with its times of GREATNESS. and "now" is as fleeting as it gets,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,kinda like our NE weather. if ya don't like it, just wait a minute or so and it will change.

but what we ALSO enjoy is, imho, one of the most informative, hilarious, good natured, thick-skinned, sharing, caring, high hooking, collection of surfcasters known to the Striper Coast. we are quite unique in that respect~~~ some LOVE it, some don't, and there are those some ones that are inbetween. but, in the end it is a place that i choose to call "home". simply meaning that i feel welcomed, there is a sense of belonging, and the fraternal aspect of this obsession we share is real and as tangible as i choose to make it.

and that is what i've learned most in my time here, in that, as is true in Life you WILL get back what you put into SB.com. however in my case, i have gotten tons more. there are times when i feel like a sponge, soaking up more than i will ever be able to repay. other times i do not know how/why ya'll continue to tolerate my brand of "crazy". most times i know that when i do invest the time, either cyberally or in reality, i am crushing my surfcaster learning curve, meeting some true gentlemen of kindred spirit, and genuinely having a BLAST along the weigh.

THANKS TO YOU ALL for making SB.com what it is "right now", what it is becoming, and what it will be as we move forward. Bossman, you know how much i appreciate ALL that you do to keep the lights turned on and the bells and whistles in tune. and here's a shout-out to the mods for keeping it reel from their thankless positions.

"The first condition of happiness is that the connection
between man and nature shall not be broken."~~ Leo Tolstoy

Obviously I was using the Q word in reference to the other 4 times it was previously used in this thread (some have since been edited) and in the other locked thread this spawned from. You and the others that are actually paying attention know that, however. Even though a few of them still remain in quotes.

Maybe if people would take more time to think about what they post, the site would suck a lot less.

I guess I had to "censor" some stuff in the thread, I sure have better things to do, like read the 5 pages of new posts since i been online last.

If they guy put the fish back like he should have this wouldn't even be an issue right now. It's his fault.
