2x4, whatever length you need. With either a cutout type bit attachment(used for drilling through doors for a lock cylinder) or a 1" wood bit, drill through the 2x. Than cut the 2x in half, drill though, near the end and use long hex bolts , threaded rod or even that plumber's pipe hanging straping to attach to the rafters.

Well, thanks guys for the ideas. I fianlly got some time to make up some holders. OD Mike sent me a pic of his and I liked it a lot as it was very cheap to make (PVC Pipe and some wood trim board). It also looks nice. Thanks OD!

You're welcome!!! Pic's are nice but seeing them in person is better, you did a great job!!! Now you need to build more for the walls!!!
I use to have a similar rod rack to Ryan560 but the lines would always get caught up in the round section of the rack. My buddy Owen came up with using the PVC and I'm having zero issues with the lines....
