I have been considering doing a rodbuilding thing this winter. Basicly I would supply a blank and guides etc and we would all build a rod. Cost would be such that everyone gets a top of the line custom rod for about $100 less than the same factory rod (maybe $250 total cost) but you build it yourself. I would do the guide layouts ( but you wrap them) and probably mount the reel seats just to get things rolling more quickly. I'm in Cumberland , RI. If any interest , PM me. If I get a decent number of guys interested I'll do it. Could do more than one if there is a big interest.

i would be happy to look at and show people how to repair rods at the same time. just remember , not all rod can be repaired! Guides are easy , broken rods are near impossible if broken in the top half , behind the reel seat is doable , etc. You can't work miracles.

All I need to do is clean out some space in the cellar so people can sit around the rod lathe. Could be almost any time except of course Holiday weeks.
