It is pitted to where I think it could be an issue with it nicking the braid. It seems to have started with the mount and spread up through the spool. So i guess I'm out 200 bucks. That sucks! Have no problem with the mount corroding but I thought the spool and body were corrosion proof. Maybe for my next reel I go with the Zeebass. Thanks for the info!

Sometimes you get these pockets of salty water under your line that wont come out no matter what you do.Stripping all the line off after the season's end is what i do.Been there with a different reel.I use real magic or wd40 after each outing after spraying everything down with the hose.
