Yes, the strict gun laws here work very well in keeping the crime rate down. Have not checked but I think it's only about 15-20 murders here in A.C. this year.
Same exact spot a few months ago the son of an elderly women who would stop by to check on her every day after work was shot in the head, another unsolved one!
