global warming, seals closer, great whites coming along, cape like fishing in nova scotia soon,..... i need another beer....just the thought of a "seal chow down" by predators will get the crew at the Sanctuary all horned-up, man,..what a sight of the carnage at the surf-line...think FWS will send in a marksman from the tropics to "retard" the predators natural inclinations ? ...honey, pass me another cold one...i need to go fish...

If there was a way to transport a few "Great White" sharks to feed on the seals for a couple of weeks,....that might solve the problem..send the sharks back when their work is done. Or maybe, just maybe towing a couple fake ones near the seals to scare them away!

Seals

They are coming north and they ain't shy.

Boating in Pascataqua River ( Portsmouth/Newington) in brackish water and have seen two seals in a month. Right up the river about at least 1 to 1 1/2 miles from harbour.

Swimming right along in river between the lobsta pots.

First thought they were dogs out for a swim.

The authorities are looking for the nice kind folks that have killed 3 of them so far this summer in Portsmouth area.

perhaps we can adopt a few great whites from southafrica..

and let them dine off of monomoy for the summer..

then send them back when the fall run begins..

i know its late now.. but its just a thought for next year..

the tree huggers would have a field day with this one..

I heard somewhere that piping plover is indian for "tastes like chicken" ..
