Thanks man I am getting phsyced two more big projects ( casting platform, glassing floor ) and this thing will be down to body work prime/paint, then I can relax and drop hardware in, drill big holes in things  |

Krusty, looking nice! You're going to have to step up on the project if we are going to get her wet this season. I'll start up the lathe this weekend and start wrapping some boat rods. So, will boat fish count once you're done?  |

OK, updated some pics but still behind.
The motor is out!! Phew, finally. It was tough, just kept taking bolts out and finally got it. Hoisted it up on a tree in the yard, it was a good feeling. You can see Magner the Evil cat was watching us the whole time The wood around the outdrive was a little soft, but not rotted. It will all be replaced anyway.
Next job is to remove the motor mount stands, finish chipping off the bedding compound on the stringers and clean up the hull sides. After that, the next big project will be to remove the cap, which is glassed all the way around the hull. Ill store that until winter when I can work on it indoors.

talk about removing the cap. What are your plans here? Not so much how are you going to do it, but what are you going to do to/with the cap.

Hey Zacs, the cap is really THE BIG project.
The forward 1/3 is cored with ply and is pretty rigid. I will need to core the rear 2/3 of the cap and at the same time incorporate an 8" lip that drops down. Supports will need to be put under the cap, btwn the lip and hull for strength.
The transom section of the cap, I'd like to integrate the original insulated boxes. Ill cut them out of the old transom cap(you can see it in the picture gallery) and add them to either side of the future motor well. Theyll be full height in the transom, so there should be access space underneath(above floor height) for hatches

Update, has been slow since I lent some tools to my brother to finish some house work.
I have taken one layer of ply off the transom, and hope to remove the second layer down to glass this weekend.
Ive cut back the stringers from the transom about 3" to facilitate transom removal.
Ive also trimmed the lip around the cap, looks better now 
And I chipped most of the potting compound off that held the floor to the stringers.
I would like to get the new transom wood on before its gets to cold to work w/ the epoxy.
Then Ill be adding 2" to the top of the stringers to raise the floor.
Also lots of grinding to do. Ill be happy if thats all completed before the "real winter" sets in. |

Can't wait to see a pic of the finished product. The weathers been good, I'm sure thats been a help. Your going to have one of the best boats on the water. Great info watching you work through this project.

Looks great VF. I nearly bought a 23 Seacraft CC several years ago but got scared when I found a weak spiot on the floor. Seacrafts are incredible boats and I wish you continued sucess in your restoration and fabrication, efforts.

Just slow Craig - I hung the outboard but still have a ways to go. Not having a garage to work in hurts too...
