Changing of the guard
I will no longer be writing the Outer Cape Insiders report for OTW. A new person will be doing come next April. I had fun but one can only write things like that before it gets stale.
I had fun and hope I helped in some small way.
I can now concentrate on feature articles with more time for in depth research.
Thanks to all who took time to check it out each month!

Well, your insight and thoughts each month have been enlightening, informative, and entertaining. Your monthly input will be missed. I'm sure your successor will be good too, but I'll miss reading your reports. You added very good style to the Insiders Reports section.
Thanks for your years of service, and I'll look forward to your feature articles.

Your a good pen Flap. Your correct about getting stale. You could take your whole year of reports and just repeat them.....and they would again be true....just like every year after year. A change every year or so with report writers is really necessary.

Steve,
I have an "Insiders" deep deep respect for both your writing style and the honesty that shines through that style. This news is bittersweet as I will miss your column but can also understand after writing my own column for only one season how one can only write so much about a limited area and keep the columns fresh.

I read it and look forward to the report each month. Living here and fishing here, I appreciate all the insight you'd write each month. Good luck with your feature articles, I'll look forward to those also.

Your article was the first i read, every issue. Thanks for all the help, and like Karl F wrote, thanks for your honest style of writing, and your first hand accounts of fishing the backside. Your monthly articles will be missed. Thanks again.

Steve,
Your contribution helped make the magazine the popular read that it is today. I'm sure your feature articles will be equally well received.
Best wishes,
Mike

That's a tough thing to write unless you are an avid boat, shore and freshwater fisherman.
If you don't do a particular style of fishing it's impossible to write with any kind of authority - I did the Rhody one for a couple years and it was a monthly struggle to do the boat and freshwater paragraphs. I don't miss it.

Good Luck Steve,
I think the number of people who mention here that they still read your monthly article even though they don't fish the Cape is testimony to your writing skills, knowledge and the thorough research you always bring to the magazine. If you have more time now for the feature articles that makes it all even more worthwhile. I'm looking forward to your next article of a man whom I think many of us may have heard and can't wait to read the story.
Best wishes on the new trail,
Ed
