Galilee Boat Launch (Pt Judith)
Looking for some information please. I'm heading over to BI in a couple weeks and I'm bringing my boat. Because I live ~1.5hrs from boat ramp - I currently plan on launching at this ramp day before vacation starts, take her over to BI for docking then take ferry back. Because I'll need to take my truck & trailer home because I can't leave it in parking for week. From a convenience perspective, I have a couple questions;
1. Does anyone know of any longer term parking for truck/trailer in this area?
2. Or does anyone live close enough and have ample space for me parking & leaving it at their place for week ($$ negotiable)? Figured it was worth a shot.
Thanks for any information or alternative recommendations.

There is a ramp at the top of point Judith salt pond in Wakefield. I think you can leave a trailer there for a night or 2 and be ok. I see a lot of trailers there.
It's only a short steam down the pond to block island sound.

Maybe you should call the harbor master in Wakefield to confirm as I'm not 100% sure.

Nebe's suggestion or the state owned BI parking lot located behind the motel in Galilee. It won't necessarily be cheap.

There is a gas station / convenience store (RT 108) across the intersection that takes you to Scarborough beach. I don't know the name of the business, but they do have boats for sale on trailers on the property. The property is fairly big. Perhaps you can negotiate a deal with them that would be cheaper than the Block Island Long term parking!

Good Luck!

Champlin Welding is located at 556 Pt. Judith Rd, and he, too, has plenty of space in the yard beyond his workshop where boats are stored seasonally. In fact, a couple of individuals trailer their boats from there regularly. His number is 401-782-4099.

In addition to the lot at the ramp at the top of the salt pond, I think the lighthouse motel in Galilee has long tern parking. If not there is a long term parking lot right next door.
