Problem is, what's in the can is still Gansett.

Robert Shaw, who would have turned 86 this year, played the hardened captain of the Orca,
the boat used to hunt the titular great white shark in the movie Jaws.
Funny i don't remember ever seeing tits on a shark ..... must of been an A- cup.

I agree. The summer ale was my favorite beer besides Sierra Nevada. I liked them so much, I had to stop drinking them.

Doubt the summer will be in the commemorative can. It's OK but nothing special.

Yup, the throwback can is just for the regular Gansett.
I felt like the summer was easy drinking, low alcohol, unobtrusive beer.
My only gripe was that the pounders got warm too fast.

Then start with something that won't give you gas and the trots.
I still remember the year that Gansett---the new Gansett which is the SOS as the old---sponsored the Striper Fest. Rained like a mother, mud puddles all over the place outside the tent, which inside, was filled with wet hay. Someone forgot to chill the beer. As bad as Gansett is cold, it really sucks warm. They finally managed to get some Gansett Lites down to somewhat drinkable temperature.

Rick, you can get it in regular 12 oz cans. I just picked up a 12 pack at the local packie.

It's actually funny that gansett makes a summer brew. Isn't summer supposed to be "lighter and crisper? It would disappear if they did that.
