Overall I would say it's been a good to very good year. Plenty of ups and downs with some very good nights and some very long fishless nights but that comes with the territory. I've caught a few big fish and lots of smaller fish. There have been some real small fish around this year (12" range) which I hope is an encouraging sign of things to come and a good mix of fish in the teens and twenties.
Spring was slow but thats become the norm fishing the rivers around these parts in recent years.
The early part of the summer was pretty average and then a couple of weeks spanning from late June into early July were very good with some good sized fish taken. Since then things slowed down to about average but I've been able to get a few decent fish on most outings. I had one other noteworty night with a couple of big fish at the end of July.
August has been a bit of a struggle with my biggest fish of the month so far going only 26# but there is still a little bit of time left. I always like late August into September and am looking forward to my schedule finally freeing up after this upcoming weekend so that I can get out a little more consistenly. I still have 3.5 weeks of vacation (aka fishing) time to use up this year
