Worst two new moons in Sept and Oct for me. Lots of fire in the water might have contributed to it.

Had 10 bonito yesterday in an hour and a half. The action has been constant for over a week now. Good size bass have been mixed in too. Haven't seen this amount of bait in years. Hoping some albies make a late apearance to close it out.

My fall has been horrible. At this point I'm not even sure I can blame it on the company I keep. The few days I knew where to be and at what time I couldn't be. Overall it has been an exercise in failure. One of these days I'm gonna figure this sh!t out.

Twofish.
I objected to you piling on top of goosefish (whom I don't know but like his humor), after someone else had already objected to his obviously sarcastic post and after he had deleted and then apologized for it. That seemed totally unnecessary so I zinged you for it, which was also totally unnecessary, but at least helped lifishvt's self-image.
I am sorry and good luck Fri night, I won't be joining you, but thanks for the invite.

I don't know why all the RI people just don't make the ride to the canal. Perhaps a sword fight between Numby and LIFishVT can be arranged for entertainment. Followed by a towel snapping contest emceed by Fishbones.

Lets hit the reset button here... Starting to look a lot like another site right now. Sarcasm can be lost on the Internet and is most likely responsible for a few of these posts... Bad fishing has made a hot button into a bunch of people.
Deep breaths everyone...

I just got in from fishing down to the west. One small blue, one small bass. A nice night to be out.

This whole thread has gotten queer. Except for 5/0's post. That post is gay. But it's gay in a happy way, not gay in a meet at the route 3 rest area sort of way.

The pole smoking was just that one time down in P-town. And if memory serves me, you didn't seem too upset then. And for the record, they weren't crabs. They were sand fleas.

Don't read into it so hard, it's just a little banter.
Plus this site won't turn into one of those swartz fighting so called fishing sites.

My fall run has stunk. Am I missing something? I thought with the recent furlough from the govt shutdown, I'd be able to go out and fish hard. I only have 1 blue that threw the hook half way in ,since my new govt sanctioned non payed vacation was imposed on me. At least the house has never been cleaner and I'm finishing plugs.

Doing pretty well at Block with stripers (usually get my two, nothing huge), but the kicker is the sea bass fishing this fall. Lots of shorts, but enough keepers to bring home and make a blackened fish sandwich or two (or five).

Maybe they should have two seperate posts.
One asking how your fall season has been out on the boat and one asking how it's been from the shore.
That way we can eliminate a lot of needless bragging and complaining between the various fishing magnates.
Seriously though, two seperate posts would keep the perspectives in line since you couldn't confuse a boat brag with a shore brag.

you better include kayaers, wet suiters and skishers in there too... or anyone that wades a bar,cut or mussel shoal.. or crawls out on a jetty or even drives a buggy over the sand... because we all fish the same water the boat is a vehicle to bring me to the fish..just like a beach buggy.. or your car to the destination.. so unless you are standing on tera firma .. no fish you land counts so it seems...I fish water SHALLOWER than most surfmen .. I fish from a boat so the government and prissy land owners can't tell me where and when I can fish... 6 miles of prime fish habitat is closed on plum island right now... because of the shut down and furlows.. every spring.. the same grounds are closed so we can have fuzzy plover chicks... so instead of whining and crying about it... 40 years ago, I had the insight to know how things worked and LEARNED to fish from a boat.. and contrary to popular belief.. the fish just dont just jump in.. you actualy have to find them... and present to them something they want to kill and or eat...if posting sucess ( when asked) is bragging.. I then appolgise... it wont happen again.. ever.

I saw a real good one yesterday morning. Today it was tiny fish city. We need some bigger bait.
