There has been NO NO fall run this year in Gloucester MA north or south. Ipswich bay, No fish off shore, no fish at all for the last 3 weeks ( well a few but schoolies and one or two 32" fish a day ) enjoy the fall run because the full month of September has been devoid of fish where they normally pool up for the run south... This is the saddest thing you could ever watch. The water is still 60 so maybe? but oct 18 is the late cut off point for fish in this area.
all is well!
oh? whats a bluefish? 3 all summer.

Moc, you still throwing the Micah sand eel? I have one that hasn't seen any action. Just curious if it's been working this year for you?

My nuggets didn't fail me, at least for one night.
9/29 turned out to be a barnburner for my brother and I with about 25 fish beached between us and many were 20# class and up. Last two fish of the night were on a double header. My brother's fish was 49" and well built, which he put back. My guess is it was a low 40# class fish, which dwarfed the 35# or so fish I released.
Went back 5 more trips this past week but all we could find were small ones each trip. I should have just quit for the year after that night.
It's almost over....

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

it's sucked worse than any other year.
Last night at the east end was dead, I mean COMPLETELY DEAD!
My closest catch last night was catching another guys line that decided to start fishing 10 feet down current from my drift.
I still have a couple of days planned fo somefishing, and I plan on mixing it up to see which produces better:fresh or salt?
I'm just glad someone is catching something.

It's been a desert. I've spent literally hours in the water the past three weeks and have seen very few bass. One decent fish at the Lighthouse before this wind set in. A lot of blackfish though. Some triggers. A few big fluke. Scup and more scup and loads of little black sea bass.
PLease don't drive and fish the Great Island Bridge. It'd be a huge waste of your time. Though some decent killifish and sticklebacks, maybe some snapper blues.

If its true and you really cant seem to "get away from the big bass", the crowds you are sending there now will certainly keep you away from them.
Great job, either way.

Well, I fish those areas you mentioned allot because I live close by and know how to fish them. Those area's just like most in RI have been terrible this fall with the exception of a couple days a few weeks ago. This has been the worst fall run that I have ever been part of in 15 or so years.
The problem now is tons of people will now be in said spots, whether there is fish there or not. You should never even joke about fishing spots being hot or cold. These places will be packed this weekend and you will be pissed when you can't get a spot. The few fish that might be there we wont even get a chance at them. Thanks allot!
