Here is a little nugget about his guitar.
An early and important guitar for Stern was a hybrid 1950s/1960s Fender Telecaster, previously owned by Roy Buchanan and Danny Gatton, which was stolen from him in an armed robbery in Boston. This guitar is the basis for a custom-made guitar built by Boston-based luthier Michael Aronson, which has a Telecaster style body with an original 1950's Broadcaster neck.

Cool stuff. I will have to chase down some more. Last one definitely is from the Methany mold. Can't really tell from the cover shots, but one of the pics scolling by shows you Roy's axe. Neat little story on the guitar as well.
This show is regarded as one of the best ever by many dead fans. Most times I pass on the popular opinion shows, but this one deserves the hype. Another one worthy of adding to the rotation. Pure magic:
This came up on the pod today. Great blues sound. This guy is 16 on this album 1969, produced by Al Kooper. Great guitar sound. If you are a fan of the blues check out some more of this guy you won't be dissapointed.
Plus he played bass on Hot Rats for Mr. Zappa. It is truly amazing how many great players I stumble on and find out they had a stint with Frank. FZ talent guru extraordinaire.
