George Harrison
IMHO one of the most influential guitar players of the 20th. Think about how many Beatles songs were influenced by his lead. To be honest would not have been te same with out it
I missed the boat on the Beatles to be honest until recently. George was amazing. I find my self currently listening to all things Harrison. To be honest I think he was a better over all player than Clapton.

Never cared too much for Clapton. But I'd take jimmy page over Harrison.

Whoa! Lets not go overboard here! I love both of them but Clapton is on an entirely different plain than George Harrison! Harrison in my opinion was a sorely under rated guitarist and song writer! Go listen to "Isn't It A Pity" (In fact the entire "All Things Must Pass" album) but that song is one of his best and Clapton does some great versions in fact one of the best I have ever heard is done by The Tedeschi/Trucks Band! Go on Youtube and give it a look! Its amazing!

I am no Beatle fanatic, unlike my wife, and I too like George the best but to say he was a better musician than McCartney or Lennon is quite a stretch. Now if you are saying you like him better than the others I can understand that.

I said what I said and that is how I feel. Harrison's music was more relevant until the day he died than that which McCartney continues to churn out right now. Irrelevant jibberish....noise! Harrison was every bit the gifted songwriter that McCartney or Lennon were if not more so! Thats how I feel and individually......Harrison had it all over either of them. We all have opinions....that is mine.

Lennon and McCartneys contributions are remarkable. But how many songs have unmistakeable lead runs etc. That simply make the song what it is. I have been absolutely mesmerized lately by some of the tempo changes exhibited on some of their later work.

I gotta stop listening to abbey rd. Frigging album body slams me every morning. Just can't stop. Highs and lows are unreal. I can't imagine what it would be like to record and produce something like that.
