This might be a really dumb question, cause I know nothing about them, but do people eat them, or fish for the fight?

Calling fishing a hobby is like calling brain surgery a job. ~Paul Schullery
There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process. ~Paul O'Neil, 1965

Cats wouldn't eat them..... If the bonefish is the fish of a thousand casts, then albies are the fish of five hundred casts. While blues put up a nice fight, they will hit anything. False albacore are much harder to find and get a hook up. Once you are able to do that, the fight is pure adrenalin drag burning joy!

Summed up nicely. The fight on light tackle is pure addicting. My wife was annoyed I've been fishing 7 days in a row, and all I could say was "it's funny fish time, sorry"
My favorite time of the season.

I have had smoked albie and it was delicious, right along side smoked bonito and bluefish all at the same sitting. Just saying.
That said, fishermen are slaying albies all over the vineyard.

Saw quite a few while standing on shore (cape side vineyard sound) yesterday. Not within casting distance, though. Always cool to see those little torpedoes breaching.
