This situation really bugs me. It's tough to label one crowd, state, or nationality for the litter problem, but I think it should be fairly easy to create a new category to fit them. "S**t flinging monkeys" is certainly a good start, more politely, "Inconsiderate, thoughtless dolts" also comes to mind. I see it after little league games, outside the local supermarket, on the beaches, even after meetings at work, anywhere people congregate there's always one or two who can't get off their a$$ and go over to the trashcan. I honestly feel some think they're simply above having to carry it around and it's someone else's responsibility to clean up after them. God forbid they keep that soiled napkin and empty coffee cup in THEIR squeeky clean car until the next rest area. They're the worst kind and I'd like to choke them with their own rubbish. Some just never learned otherwise and it never sunk in what they were doing to the environment. And for the most part I don't think it's the elementary-middle school kids, but from high school on up it just gets worse. How hard is it to cram an extra supermarket bag in your back pocket or glove compartment for trash? Not very! But some people won't change unless they're motivated to, which is why if I see them I don't let 'em get away with it. Even if they don't pick up their mess, they know they did something wrong. Hopefully, they'll think twice the next time. Hopefully, too, someday there will be a bounty on the heads of litterbugs and we can make some money off the ignorant bastages! We could also use that crying Indian ad for litter on TV again. (sorry for rambling on).
