Probably 2'+ with bigger drifts out here on MV. Wind was roaring..60 at times. I don't shovel (all vehicles I own are big 4wd's)but I had to clear the furnace vents and drains, they were partially buried. Never lost power. Wood stove and pellet stove kept house 74 deg all day. I was downstairs making plugs all day.
This past year they replaced all the electric poles with big heavy taller poles and re-rigged the power lines so they very well supported and above all the trees. They also did a lot of heavy trimming. Everyone (except me) was complaining all summer about Nstar putting in eyesores and that they never asked the commission for permission to do that. NSTAR told the commission...we don't ask permission, we do what we want these belong to us and that pissed them off and it was back and forth all summer. I bet they are happy they didn't loose power now. (probably not actually, they are morons). My local 'hood is underground and the cable to the island is underwater so it is only the few miles that we have an issue.
