Can you show us a pic of what the tip looks like?

Buy white painting rags from hardware store. After every color, take a rag and wipe out the remaining paint out of the cup. Then flush the cup and airbrush with water and 50/50 simple green and water. Going back and forth with water and 50/50 until you think it is not shooting paint anymore.

Pickup a rag and shoot into the rag, if you see any color or not, start to back flush the gun by folding up the rag and forcing the tip into the rag and spray fully open this will produce bubbles. After doing this a couple of times with water and 50/50 solution, shoot into the rag again, do you see color? If you have water in this step, back flush the gun and check the bowl, after the bubbles settle check to see if there is any paint or metallic flake floating in the bowl. If there is keep back flushing with solution, if there's not your done on to the next color.

Use a ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and DON"T leave parts overnight.

Hope this helps,
OD
