I do believe U R wrong about Eisenhower opposing Civil Rights Act.....It was Eisenhower who pushed thru the 1957 civil rights act and the 1960 civilrights act.....and he established the civil rights commission and desegragated the military......it was LBJ who made the bill very weak stripped it of enforcement.....republicans supported the bill and exclusively denounced by democrats Every single segregationist in the Senate was a Democrat. Only one of them ever became a Republican: Strom Thurmond.
Lets not blame eisenhower....put the blame where it belongs and U R right about Buckley....
