Well said Dangles. Joe was a class above the rest. A gentle kind man who was one hell of a saxophone player

Sad news for sure. We went to school together, played street hockey as kids. Lost track of each other then had a chance meeting at a local tackle shop after my time in the USN. Been good friends ever since.

Geez I didn't realize who this was until I saw the photo on the front page. I met him a bunch of times at the RISAA shows. He would always have a booth near ours. A great guy, always remembered me even though we hardly knew one another. Sold me my first pack of Point Jude lures. Sad to see this guy go.

Very sad knew the family very well pretty much all my life. Condolences to Jeff, his mom and the family.
His two passions were fishing and music. A lot of you knew him from fishing but I knew him from both. Here's a couple of clips from Joe having fun. RIP Sax Man

All I'm thinking about is all the fun we had at RISAA 10 years ago when Pt. Jude, Tattoo, Van Staal (Craig), & Habs all had booths in the same Isle It was like a Block party,

When I would talk to Joe he would always ask where I was going to be fishing and send me a care package with tips on how to fish what he sent.

Jeff I am so sorry for your loss

While searching for Joe's service information, I discovered the family lost his brother, John, also suddenly, at 49 in 2008. Wishing the family much strength through trying times.....

Such a loss. Joe was always so generous, especially to the next generation. My son has a stash of hats and tins from every visit to RISSA, etc...

Can't be true. So sad. Was honored to fish with Joe on several occassions in Newport and we talked routinely. Kindest man I knew. Always went out of his way to drop off tins for my son Luke and never took money from me. Jeff, my sincere condolences to you and the entire Martin family. Im sorry for your loss.
