By my best estimate I had 28 solid casts into schools of Bonito late last week from the rocks over a 10 hour (2 day) period and only brought in one small fish. There were some large 10 pounders out there, too.

Had about 12 shots at rampaging Albies down the cape one morning this weekend and came up with a fail as did everyone else around me: motorboats, yaks, and rock fishers. They were around at least 3 hours consistently. One boat among over a dozen however, seemed to be scoring with ease? I could see what he was using and I used it to no avail. smh

Found them later on in the morning in close but parking was impossible. Will try again very soon.

Yup. yesterday I was running all over in hard SW winds to find nothing. First trip in a while I didn't find them. The winds just made it more annoying.

on the water before the sun is over the horizon and hope to get them on their way into the shallows looking for bait balls being eaten by jacks and hung with them till the albies found them. That is what I did last weekend. As I sat out deep I could see the boats coming from all directions converging on my home port. Luckily they all went in close to shore as that is probably where they got them day before and I got lucky several times out in deeper water out of their eyes. They soon came out looking and I had enough bumper boating and went home.

Four from the rocks the last 8 hours fished. Law of averages I suppose. Pulled the hook on a few more trying to get them in too quick. I don't like to see them sink, so that's the cost I guess.

This mornings T-storms would usually get me off the rocks if the storms are closer than a count of 5. Not when Albert is loose jawed it doesn't.

20 mph north wind #^&#^&#^&#^&ed everything up for me this morning. No fish visible and most of the huge bait balls got swept away. Took a drive and found MOTS.

Very slow here. Had to work for 5 hours for what I got. Did manage 2 hooked lost one and landed one in like 2 feet of water the fight was a blast got to see the whole thing. They have pretty much disappeared compared to last week. Tons of bait though so they will be back.

I got one albie from shore yesterday on my second cast, caught me completely off guard. That was it for the day, nothing this morning in SoCo for me. It was nice feeling a little nip in the air.

Everything is better on the rocks.

went out this Am from newport overcast and headed towards PJ only to find myself in 4-6 ft rollers that weren't in the forecast turned around at PJ came back into the wind that wasn't there when i left tried in the river nothing to be seen in my 50mile round trip.. only upside I got to see how the boat handles in less the optimal conditions

Took a lot of work yesterday to find them in a fishable location on CC. Wind was tough for us shore guys as well as you boat people. Problem was the fish were fairly picky once we found a few small pods. Was rewarded right before the big downpour after way too many hours of casting and searching and figuring out what they wanted.

Got it on a blind cast after they hadn't shown for a good while and had almost called it quits. Probably my most gratifying fish of the year since I had all but given up at that point.
