It was a fantastic book, tough to put down. I plan on seeing it in the theater which is not a common occurrence for me.

Just finished reading "In the heart of the sea".
True story of the whaling ship Essex from Nantucket, which was rammed and sunk by a large sperm whale in the Pacific, based mostly on first hand accounts of two of the survivors. Great read, lots of historical facts and descriptions about Nantucket in particular.
Herman Melville, who had worked aboard whaling ships and heard the stories of the survivors wrote the fictional story "Moby #^^^^&".
I haven't been to the movie theater in years, definately going to see this one with my two boys.

I will check that one out.
Philbricks book was good ...factual....but not necessarily entertaining and without much drama.

Anyone see it? The reviewers were bad, but that doesn't always mean much.

We finally watched it this weekend. Definitely worth the six dollars and sure made me want to read the book, too.
