Ah, the frustration of just having to watch bass in a feeding frenzy when you can' get in the chase. I've been in similar situations.
In a related matter years back while dining on the deck of a restaurant in CT., people were dropping food scraps to feeding stripers. Shortly, a boat with fishermen pulled up and dropped their lines to a chorus of "Boos".
Similarly, when I return to friend's dock to clean fluke, bass pick off the discards. We've never tried to catch these fish as they've become "pets" and it wouldn't be very sporting to drop a hook baited with the skin from a fluke's belly under those circumstances.

I had a date with a smoking hot girl about 10 years ago. It was November in Soco, we screwed around tog fishing off the rocks. We had a good time and didnt catch anything, only stayed for an hour so we could go exploring the area, ya know walk on a beach. The smell of fresh cut green crabs is a natural aphrodisiac.

Then we went to Georges and had a nice dinner. We sat upstairs over looking the harbor. As we are getting towards the end of dinner an all out blitz erupts. I quickly pay the bill and we head to the truck. I fish, she sits. First and last date... Wasn't meant to be i guess.

Everything is better on the rocks.
