Spinning rod and reel

So my friend offered me a OTI TUNA SNIPER popping rod and Spheros 14000 and some lures for $200. If I buy this I plan on upgrading the reel. What do you guys think? Is the spheros a viable reel?

I have the Saragosa 20K with a Van Staal spinning rod. Easily handled 60" bluefin and 400lb+ porbeagle last September. Great combo. I have Hollow Pro braid with 100lb Streamline leader (now BHP).

Use this to jig, cast and liveline...
