Little late on the story, but the first day of my vaca in late June, on the yak, off of the bathing beach on the Race, I was about a .5 mile out with Marky in the pot lines. He had been on the fish for a few days and told me it was a sure deal. We start in chasing birds with the current for about 1 mile or so (tons of bait). After about a 1/2 hour, I started questioning his plan of attack and suggest we hit another locale. He looks at me from his yak and gave me the preverbial bird. I started to paddle to a high flyer and saw some big boils. No sooner could I scream "They're Here!" A huge, I mean huge, big blow up behind my kayak (right behind) erupted. This was big enough to push the yak forward a few feet, and loud enough to make me want to chit my pants. I turned around immediately and saw a boil as big as Ford 350. Mark was pretty close to me, so I turned and asked if he saw what it was. He said "No, but I heard it. There's nothing we are going to do out here anyway. Tell ya what I'll bring what's left of ya home. Now make a cast!" I followed advice, and buttoned into a fat 40" fish on a Salty Needle (My go to out there) as soon as it hit the water. Mark was tight on his next cast and we had a pod of good fish to our selves for at least 30 minutes til the fleet saw us. It is amazing how quickly you go from nervous to nerves of steele when on fish. Mark sent me that Utube video of the guy on Brewster Flats getting his fish jumped by a Great White the other day. Makes me think. I still owe you guys some pics of my daughter's first keeper. She also got her first Larry the other day. When I have a chance I will post them>
