Mrmacey, I had suggested the "H" buoy a while back. If you look straight off of the point of Brant Rock (front side of Green Harbor), it's approximately 7 miles out. At about 6 miles or so right near there, there are a couple of wrecks. The bigger of the two is an upside-down tanker or frieghter (I forget which) and that usually holds some decent Cod. You can spot it on your fishfinder. It's easy to distinguish the shape of the hull. In these areas, I always drift with jigs and teasers. Once in a while clams. I usually check the wind drift, then set a mark on GPS or drop a marker buoy if you've got one. Do a drift until you're off the location, start the motor and go back for continued drifts. Where you're going with several boats, the marker buoy would work nicely.
The close inshore spost like Farnham Rocks or High Pines Ledge, may or may not produce well this time of year. You'll most certainly pick up a few there but for quantity, you're better off heading out a ways.
The wrecks and "H" Buoy are where the party boats head to for half day trips.

Hi MrMacey, Sorry I haven't been on top of the cod thread much as I have still been striper huntin. If you are going out of green Harbor, or Situate? Not sure which. If you don't get any cod at the H-bouy try the B-bouy north of there out off Boston Harbor. We got a few cod out there the other day, not in any great numbers but that was a week ago and the water temp has droppped a few degree's. We usually try the Nahant area this time of year on the north shore, its not too long of a run from the back river ramp in weymouth, with very good success, jiggin in 50 - 100 ft of water. but haven't been out enough to tell ya wether it is worth the run from where you are putting in or not. Better off heading out further from the H if you want to pick up any haddock, probably need to go toward the bank for them.

The wreck is the Pinthias it does hold some cod. All around the "h" bouy is good. Farnum Rock is inshore and shallow but there is probably some cod there. Forget about haddock around these areas, you have to head east of Stellwagon, all the haddock I have caught have been in at least 200 feet or so these areas are much shallower. Look for rocky hard bottom if you head farther than about ten miles out you will get mud bottom which is not good. Good luck guys!
