Probably true. Guess I wll buy halibut and fish for trout and salmon when I go back. Pacific halibut is so delicious though

You know the pen senator /trolling rod set up for ripping jigs with wire line? Take off the wire and put on 50 lb test mono and tie on a 32 ounce bullet head jog with a 14/0 hook. Then instal a whole mackerel, an octopus tentacle and a herring filet on the hook and bounce it in the mud. When you think you have hung up on a log, and you think you are reeling in a log, guess what.... it's a halibut.

If the oaks go halibut fishing it will only solidify their love of the black feesh

That is definitely not for me. I would have to find someone to take me jigging for them. There are guys who do drift fishing with fairly light tackle, braid and 6-8 oz jigs.
