Flew the USMC Flag proudly from the mast today of the USNS 1st Lt. Jack Lummus. 241 years old and going strong. The steward made a nice big B-Day cake.

1st Lt Lummus was awarded the MOH for his actions on Iwojima. He died on the Island after taking out numerous gun positions. And also only 1 of 2 Marines awarded the MOH that were NFL players. Jack wore #29 for the NY Giants.

HBD to my long since departed dad, who was a marine aviator and flew F4U Corsair off carriers, not for the light of heart.
