It is a good idea Mike...i have an engraver and did a lot of my original tools. Seen a lot of guys put a dab of thier special color paint to identify stuff too. My ladder was obvious, brand new, I had no doubt.... didn't feel I had to prove anything. Waited to see if any of them wanted to dispute it..........Nope.
