How can one burn spots?
Isn`t every spot in some book or magazine by now? And how can one spot belong to BM?
Nothing new under the sun.

Not all the spots are.
I still know of a couple spots that I've yet to see another human being fishing on...

I saw the show. Its good to see some national guy doing a local show. I think it was Late Summer. He also fished with the Mayor of the Cape for a couple shows. I know they have aired also but I have yet to see them. What a big girl though. He was afraid to pick the things up and release them gently. Instead he let them flop around on the ground and just ripped the hooks for all he was worth. I didnt like that part. Jackie O

If ya wanna know how to burn spots ya gotta go to SOL, (Spots On Line).
Nothing new under sun, but a lot you don't want to share after sun goes down.
Any spot BM is at, is his.
Some places should not have a picture of broadcast, or printed. Names, hell everybody knows them by name, but they should be learned and earned, not "here is the picture, stand RIGHT here!" Hell, some guys will even give out the gps!
I've seen the posts like that in the past, and seen what happens in under 24 hours
Saw Roland and Al on a residents only beach last fall, I will say this, Roland can catch, and he is hardcore.
I heard they were around for 3 days or so, and I don't think they slept much.

They slept plenty.
And actually fished very little, they had spotters running the beaches telling them where fish were.
TV Fishing for people like that is a no brainer.
Same as most of the offshore shows, they'll hire 3-4 spotter planes to hunt out where the tuna, marlin, etc. are then direct them there.
And yes, BM's spots, he'll throw 5oz lead at your head with his VS and whatever rod he's using at your head if you burn one

If anyone sees Al Gag at a club show etc. ask him how that trip to the cape ended. Al tells a great story about getting a call to rush to NYC and read for the sopranos

Heard a story about Roland Martin and his fishing "prowess". A couple of years back he was on the CT river at the Enfield dam, which is a premier spot during the spring run. He had a couple of his cronies in jet boats flying up and down the river RIGHT THROUGH everyone's casting area and spots...they were snagging herring and bringing them back to him and most likely marking fish along the way for him. Now here's a guy that was there for maybe two days to film that spot, flying right through and puttin down everyone else's fishing so he could look like the big man on the tube. How to win friends and influence people...

Hey T-Bone, I was there snagging herring for him. At the time I thought it would be cool. Afterwords...and now...I'm not so sure.

testing the waters
Hi Dave and Karl!
I knew my reply would spark a decent remark.
And I have seen a post crowd out an area as well.... its no fun then.
Best,

All I know is, the night I saw them, Roland gave it hell for a good 7 hour stint, not many of the regulars, including myself on that stretch were having much luck. He was methodical and kept working the moving water on the edges of the bars, he was catching a good 2 to 1 next to some of the guys who fish that "spot" every night. I heard the next day at work from a part time co worker that Roland and Al had made an appearance at "his" beach about 20 miles away later on, and fished it till dawn. I know they had spotters, at least one guide that I know of, and several local tackle guys feeding them honey holes.
I'd love to hear that story Patrick, Al is a hoot!

Roland does know how to fish----he's originally from Maryland and made a living as a Chessie waterman before he hit it big on the bass pro circuit. He was also a FW striper guide on Santee-Cooper in SC for a spell.
