When confronted with crazy?

I was fishing Southwest Ledge years ago on a Sunday twilight, had a decent spot going, good size striperd. Just drifting thru this specific spot over and over again. Then a 40 ft or so center cockpit comes over and drops right over me. I couldn't believe it. I motored over him and said we should just take turns drifting thru and he went off, told me to f-off etc. I drift right in front of him as close as I could with out touching. He went ballistic pulled his anchor and got about 300 hundred yards away and came at me full speed. I had 2 kids on the boat. I just stood there with my jaw on the deck. He then turned away and started screaming again. I grabbed the flare gun and pointed at him, then got on the radio with the Coast Guard, he figured out what I was doing an took off to parts unknown it was crazy and dangerous.
