It’s too bad about the people who lost their lives at Wetherill, but usually that spot is one of the safer on the east side of the island. You don’t usually get massive surf there, at least from my experience. I wonder what caused her to go in. Terrible, regardless.
On another note, I watched a guy in flip flops bring his three very young children out onto the breachway the other day in treacherous conditions. Got my blood boiling. When he walked past me on the way in I made sure his kids couldn’t hear me and said “ WTF are you doing bringing them out here in these conditions, it’s way too dangerous.” He just looked at me like I had two heads. F’n clueless.
