Promises made....easy solution

I’m against a simple elegant and incorrect solution to a complex problem.
There’s horrific situations in a number of countries in Central America
Building a wall for billions that you can scale with a ladder and a rope worth $500 is simplistic
People don’t hand carry drugs across the border in any quantity, it comes by truck, plane and boat and still would.
We also need immigration reform along with how we do work permits, and clamp down on the illegal workers like the ones Trump has hired in the past

If you want a complex solution, a wall would be part of it, not the whole of it. It won't stop boats and planes (don't know what your complex solution would) but it would stop a lot of people and slow down a bunch too. And would make it more feasible for a border security force to do its job. And $20 billion is a tiny drip of money that the federal government spends on dip-chit projects.

As for improving conditions in the countries from which the illegals come, we can't nation build the world. If we ease the internal pressures of the poorly governed nations by accepting a steady flow of their population, the crisis needed for their reform is eased and the rotten conditions will remain.

In order to have a successful nation state, its citizens must assure that state. The citizens must demand their rights or revolt.

He is speaking about a temporary situation which involved exaggerated reaction to stop an immediate threat. The military is not part of a long term complex solution. His border security officers have told him that the wall would greatly help along those parts of the border that have no official port of entry and are not secured 24/7.

Incorrect solution? No, it's just one way to get something done, it is NOT incorrect. Maybe you can come up with a solution of your own like maybe getting church groups to work with under privileged people who want to come here but can't afford the fee for the legal process. Or start your own gofundme with all those rich people you know and have worked for in the past.
It all won't matter if the socialists get there way and destroy the country which is about bankrupt already because there will be no benefit to coming here when there is no reward or hand outs. Go on supporting the powerful rich leaders and keep complaining about the one in charge now because they are all the same to me, and keep watching skewed media, you all parrot their stuff daily.
