Furthermore , is it liying if you actively believe something your family has told you?
My own personal family history is pretty interesting and how would I know it is true or not ??

you should probably actually verify it if you are using it on resumes and to gain professional advancement...especially if you are supposed to be "smart" and "educated"

I can see your point - but it certainly appears that she only has a very tiny, tiny, bit of indian heritage - certainly not enough to call yourself "American Indian" on an application where being American Indian can gain you a competitive advantage. It's a stretch to believe her.

You can’t admit she has Indian heritage and then rally around the fact that she lies about it.
For the record, I would not have claimed I was American Indian based on what she has said, but under no circumstances do I doubt that she lied. There’s a distinct fact missing when people call her out in lieing. She has simply exaggerated the truth.

If your Dad got drunk and told you that you were a descendant of Royalty then my guess is you would not be walking around wearing a crown. Then you have Pocahontas who used this folklore to milk every competitive advantage possible and try to cut the line on multiple occasions. Is she really supposed to be smart? I guess it’s just bad judgement but that’s not a crime.

My own brother did something similar to gain an advantage.... He put "other" as opposed to "white" on his application to that Ivy League college in New Hampshire. He got in.... And I can assure you it was not because of his grades... They were fully expecting a black kid from the north shore of Boston to check off a box in their demographic. The alumni that came to meet with him, after the acceptance, gave it away with her initial reaction..... And forty years later he still identifies as a graduate of that school.
So do the ends justify the means? Or is it a telltale signal of whether someone is going to be a rule follower instead of chiseler? I have my own opinion....
