Nukes are not an option. Nuclear weapons will not only effect afghanistan, but the surrounding countries such as Pakistan and Russia. The last thing we want is to get into a pissing match with these two countries. Both have nuclear capabilities. Nuclear attack could spawn a new cold war with both these countries. Not something I'm interested in. Nukes will also change the world in a physical way. Changes weather patterns, changes the resources the world can use. The last thing we want is to have MORE people pissed at us.
Let's not forget there are some innocent people in Afghanistan. The Taliban controls 90% of the country. The other 10% is in the north and it has no control over what the Taliban does and vice versa. Practically two seperate countries. We don't want to kill them. We hated having our innocent people killed. It's just not right.
What can we do? Not much I'm afraid. The principle that the Osama group works under is using cells. Each cell has it's missions and takes no orders. If one cell dies, other cells take their place. It's a very effective. It's like cancer. To be healthy, you need to wipe out every cell at once.
What do I think we should do? A major liberation. We know there are cells operating in other places than Afghanistan. Cancer spreads, that's why it's hard to beat. While you are pulling it out of the liver, it's on it's way to the lungs.
First, cut off their supply. Afghanistan is a third world country. They have very little resources to manufacture any serious weapons. Cut off whoever is supplying them.
Next, destroy their capabilities. Cut their power. As it seems right now, no one in the Taliban section of afghanistan is innocent. They seem to be there willingly. All of them can die for all I care. Cut off their power. Destroy their power supplies.
Then, start in the north and push all the cells together. This would require a ground war but there isn't much of a choice right now.
Push them all together and massacre them. Like pushing a deer off a cliff.
