I'm shifting my attention to the sweetwater species.
Went fishing this weekend at a couple of my "go to" spots using bait and flies, and managed to coax a brown and a coupl of brook trout.

You usually only encounter the die-hards this time of year.
I usually fly-fish until the ponds freeze over. Last year I stopped a week before christmas.

I'll tell you one thing... Freshwater gets a hell of a lot colder than salt. I went down the canal last week and had no problem standing waist-deep for a couple of hours, yet with the SAME gear, I couldn't last more that an hour before the chills set in.

It's still worth it if you can trick a decent fish to take your offering.
