He said the Democrats accusing him of mishandling it was a hoax. And when he said that, he had already done a lot to fight it. He would not have done the travel bans and be ridiculed for doing it if he believed it was a hoax. He would not have created a task force to fight it if he thought it was a hoax. He would not have spent the time and energy to create a way for private companies to manufacture and distribute needed medical equipment if he thought it was a hoax.

You, apparently, need for him to have said the virus is a hoax. It helps your anti-Trump narrative. That is dishonest.
