I am hoping to see that out there . Then hit the trolling motor on spot lock and see how it goes

I was wondering about that! The guy we were with didn't have a trolling motor, and with 15 other boats drifting around, maybe it's not safe? Would you do it in the middle of a fleet?

if people are fishing a drift I would go with the flow and the drift. With the other boats.. But I used on the race the other day no real crowd and it worked pretty Good staying on a drop that was holding fish…
But I would use it to slow my drift. Like a drift sock. Points the bow into the tide or wind and just makes it easier to fish straight up and down off the stern but no spot lock

That is good of you to do what the fleet is presently doing
Instead of showing up and throwing a wrench in the mix like a jerk
Seen it before
Just very arrogant
Oh and thanks for the post Jim
Fun times with your boy.

I saw the arrogance you mention the very 1st time I went to the race and it was a full on comm day it was just madness boats so close you could tell people’s eye color . And if they saw you were hooked up boats would just rush that area . I don’t think I left the Helm that whole day I was kinda freaked out by The experience. Don’t like crowds on land or on the water

we had a couple of drifts when the tide was screaming, it was impossible to fish directly underneath you. i bet a trolling motor to slow drift would have been a great idea.
