Thats great! We just got a pup as well. Our black Lab is aging and we wanted to get one so he can show the little guy the ropes around here. We got an English Springer Spaniel named Drake, he's much smaller than the Lab. My son and I are working with him so we can hunt pheasant with him. Best of luck with Vinnie!

Thanks! I would have preferred to adopt a sporting dog like your Drake..... the Shih Tzus do make great companions.... my wifes choice.
Maybe when I retire in a few years..... a dog that would accompany me on the boat....would be nice
My sons Boston terrier is a great pet....not sure...but dont think he liked being in there.

I would love another dog, Boomer is now 9, but my wife would kill me.

best friend Vinnie in training.. chases the ball down ....jumps on top of it and goes tumbling over....then finds a way to get a tooth into it and takes off running.
Tony...my sons Boston terrier is a sweetheart of a dog...love them both.
Dogs are great!

Hey.. I have to say that one of my huge regrets was not getting a dog BEFORE we lost Hector. Ideally you do this before boomer starts to get old and slow down. The logic is that Boomer will teach the new pup everything you have taught him. You say “boomer, Come!” And that little pup sees him do it and viola ! The pup is learning. It’s so much easier to train a dog that way.
In my case, I’m dogless and very much wanting a new one but when we get one we will have to teach that dog from scratch.
