More tricky Pete goofy stuff. The investigation involved more than trying to thwart or stop Russian interference. It was also an attempt to thwart or stop Trump.
It would be logical that those who knew Trump had not conspired with Russia would try to reveal that that part of the "investigation" was bogus. Events unfolded to prove that to be true.
