Fuel prices: Could I save money driving an electric car?
There are nearly half a million electric cars in the UK, and rising fuel prices have prompted more people to consider making the switch.
The government is banning the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030, a decade earlier than originally planned.
Filling the tank of a 47-litre family hatchback with petrol now costs about £85, or £88 for diesel.
Despite recent energy price increases, charging at home to deliver the equivalent mileage typically costs less than half of that - about £41.
Electric cars are coming they are just another tool in the tool box

Guess you haven’t a clue on what cars and trucks cost in the US
2020 SIERRA 1500 AT4 TRUCK CREW CAB With 25k on it. Is 60k
CERTIFIED
2020 Tesla Model 3
Standard Range Sedan 4D

Ps read the article it gives an example of the cost of a charge compared to Gas.
Still have heard of wind solar and hydro? Nuclear power
About 30 percent of the world's electricity comes from renewables
Renewable sources account for 21% of all the electricity generated in the United States.
And climbing..
Jim you cling to fossil fuel like people once clung to the horse and carriages.. not sure if it for practical reasons or nostalgia

wdmso, i have solar panels on my roof, and my next car will be a Sienna hybrid. i like electric cars.
but they are expensive, there aren’t enough of them available, there aren’t anywhere enough charging stations, and not nearly enough electricity once we have all the charging staying we need.
Are you opposed to nuclear? if so, where do you suppose we’re going to get the boatload more electricity we’re doing to need before we move to electric cars?
we are t going to be where we need to be, with wind and solar. we need a lot more.
imo, nuclear is the obvious answer.

Not everyone needs the same car or Truck you buy what works.
But it figures you move the goal posts once the prices don’t fix what Jim calls my narrative.. I am not The one trying to make one. Lol
Used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select
Yep 48k
Ford has announced prices for the 2022 F-150 Lightning, including Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trims.
The base price is $41,669 including a mandatory $1695 destination charge.
The XLT starts at $54,669 and the Lariat and Platinum versions will be considerably more expensive
Imagine that That there are gas and electric cars at many price points for different consumers

i actually looked at a ford F-150 lightning today. range between battery charges is 220 miles, or about half that if towing anything. very practical.
