Having some spare BG7000 CL's is definites a good idea. I do however have the Calcutta . It has a great drag and casts well. My overall impression (and most opinions here seem to agree) is that its a little too big and awkward.
I'm in the mode for using up some of what I have. I have a 7500 levelwind I never use and the Calcutta. Its just money tied up for no good reason unless I use them. i also have a BG 9000CL that I bet would make a good canal reel.
I don't do much boat fishing so I might as well give the Calcutta a try at the Canal. I'll bring the old faithfull 7000 just in case I hate using the Calcutta.
