Real nice winter shots, Clammer - - must have been pretty g.d. cold to be out there gettin' them - the wind was blowin' like stink this morning -

I was gonna try to hit the Drive at sunrise to get shots of some of the spots with the Arctic sea smoke.

Had an early AM appt. and ended up not being able to get out to do it before I had to leave. Not like I was broken hearted to miss the weather - it was bad enough just leaving the NCSWFC meeting last nite and dealing with it.

While they are shots I'd love to get at some point in the future, I'll be just as happy if it don't get that #$@%% cold again.

I wonder if it'll be cold enough tomorrow AM - whaddya think?

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

the gunmount is what some of us gansett surfcasters call the shoreline between eastwall and Pt Judith light... theres a large gun battery bunker right at the corner of the camp cronin parkinglot... Some other guys call it the pocket. Some call it the Corner..... I call it the gunmount.

Man clammer your rig looks pretty lonely out there,do you chop up the ice or use a saw? Looks like you have some work to do.

Yap some real nice pics. Your back was to the gun mount when you took the pic of that big rock.

denis , I use to smash & crash with the boat==to get to work//

now I just let it freeze in //nothing happens / as the ice thickens ..it pushes the hull up/
I use to keep the motor clear,, & start it just for good measure===but breakin the ice sucks so there it sits ..I walked around it on the ice today=====
I got a spot in saltwater that you ice fish kinda like f/w /but no tip-ups=white perch &tomcod=======maybe i,ll check that out this week
