The New Bedford waterfront smells like that during the summer. The South Terminal area is one fish house after another. The streets are loaded with sea gulls by day and rats by night. A couple of years ago, I was driving my pickup to the fish house and my spare tire fell from its rack underneath the truck bed. The truck lurched up and spilled 18 keeper bass in the street. I only recovered 15 fish. The traffic was all stopped while I ran around picking them up. Never did find the other three.
