Goose (and others),

Do you snell your fluke hooks or do you tie direct with a polamar like knot?

I have done both and both work IMO but think that tying direct is a little better because the there is no line along the hook shank to ge chewed on by the fish or damaged by plyers. But all of the commerical rigs seem to snell. I find even a clinch or polamar does the job even on bent eye hooks.
What do you guys use?
