Fished wastewater outflow #017 again
I went up and gave it another shot today, meeting a friend from work there. There were four other people trying who had caught nothing, one guy said he also tried for 2 hours in the AM. I tried from 430-545 fishing from the marina, off a docked boat, in front of the crap hose , and in front of the hot water discharge with nothing. Second time ive been skunked there. There was one guy out there swimming in the middle getting fish. He dove down and came up with a nice 16 inch fish. He was killing them out there! He got a couple, i coulldnt belive it, thought i was having some acid flashbacks, but he was a seal! I didnt think they came this far up into the bay? Anyone else ever see any there? Any have any luck there?

A few years back there was a seal living on the docks of the rowing club on the Blackstone River.. so they even go up further. If theres a seal around you can bet the bass are hiding from it.

Maybe the reason why you werent catching them was because of the seal chaing them away.

I think the seals don't matter. I 've seen seals in the water and caught 20# bass not long after the seals were spotted. I've also seen packs of seals making loud commotions in the fall when the schools of smaller bass and blues are around, but I've never actually seen a seal with a nice tail sticking out of it's mouth. Who knows what they were chasing, the bass/bluefish or the bait.
