On The Hook TV
Hey, has anyone seen this show on NESN? My buddy told me about a few weeks ago so I've been watching and it's actually pretty good. They do both inshore and offshore stuff in New England. Anyway, just thought I'd pass the word on a good SALTWATER show in NE, they guy does a good job without being over the top like some other ones we know of...

No, it's called On The Hook, don't think it's affiliated with any magazine.

On the Hook with Steven Sloan. I have not seen it yet, but he wrote the book "Ocean Bankruptcy." I have not finished it yet, but it tells you where our fish are going, and really gets the blood boiling. The politics of fish, and who has the deepest pockets

Just caught the episode where they were 50 miles south of Nantucket. They were pulling small mahi mahi off the high flyers. Good info, but twas kind of disappointed that they went so far to only get chicken mahi. They said they were looking for white marlin?
Also, its not the same Sloan. Ocen Bankruptcy is a great read for anyone who wants to know about ICAT and the tunas. I am just starting to get into the offshore scene, and it talks alot about how the recs are getting screwed over by US and international commercial fishermen when it comes to offshore pelagic species.

Chicken Mahi but still Mahi
I saw the show as well and still have to say it's pretty good and very well rounded. Ya, there are white and blue sails out there. I do a lot of offshore stuff and know at least one offshore Billfish tourney out of Nantucket. It's run by the same guy who does the monster shark tourney (boston big game fishing). Actually, I think there's a blue marlin world record out of Mass.
I hear ya about the small Mahi, but if they were going out for Whites, at least they didn't waste the trip and come home skunked! I'll take the chicken over skunk any day!
I like the show
