Last year, although I caught my share of keepers, I took home only one; believe it or not, I consider bluefish to be better eating. I grilled, broiled and pan fried a lot of those.

But last season, just like every season, I released several shorts that probably weren't going to survive, fish that I wished I could take home and eat, just so they wouldn't go to waste. I know there are all sorts of reasons why this has to be, but it still saddens me.
