where can i get a 4 oz. jighead mold
can anyone tell me where to get my hands on a 3 or 4 oz. jighead mold, i tried redtops but had no luck, I jig the canal and lose at least 2 every night and they tend to get expensive, those 40+ fish nights are worth it though.

check out the sponsors... just cause they don't have it on their website doesn't mean they don't have it or they can't get it...

I have some you can borrow if you leave me a deposit on the molds. I have the Hot Lips 4 & 5 oz and the bullet 3 & 4oz. I also carry all the HD mustad hooks.

4 oz was a popular size at the RISAA show and I was cleaned out, but my source is breathing fumes as we speak, so I should have a fresh supply at the MSBA show.
I'm also bringing some new hooks, as I had Owner send me some samples to check out and I was impressed at the beef of their Muta circles. I'll have a good deal on 6/0 mutas and 8/0 Gorillas at the show. Not a big supply, as I'm looking for feedback, so the early bird may get the circles.
I need to fish, I'm glad the upcoming weekend looks good, need to spend a night doing some way, way overdue reel maintenance thou.

Hey, GS, are the Mutas SS? Kirbed points or short-shanked? Just wonderin'...

the muta's have a unique offset hangnail point and a super sharp forged point, the finish is corrosion resistant black chrome. The finish is the same as on the jig hooks I've been using for years and they hold up well. Here's a picture of a 6/0 next to a quarter, so you can see the heft of the wire.

That is one tuff hook...you could probably tow your truck with that thing. Those mutu's are generally advertised as a live bait hook for big fish....the thickness of the wire is amazing. I tried them last year drifting scup....you get a Macho feeling when you sink it into a bait...those gorillas are monsters. Frankly I think the wire it too thick and made more for giant tuna. But it is impressive.I like the owner in line circles for bass line bait 7/0 8/0. Thinner wire and plenty strong.

I can get the light muta's but I thought these hooks looked like something beefy enough to hold up to the riggors of slinging eels from teh surf. I haven't seen the gorillas yet and ordered some for the show in 8/0, figuring the herring crowd might want those.
